History

In 1913 the German Navy was looking for a seaworthy seaplane and demanded several manufacturers to develop such an aircraft.

The required seaworthiness implied a structurally strong aircraft, while at the same time wish for a good performance required a rather light plane. Flugzeugbau Friedrichshafen GmbH (FF) developed the Friedrichshafen FF 19, which fulfilled the wishes of the German navy.
