On Monday 30 April 2018, Wilko Jonker died after a long illness at the age of 58. He leaves behind a wife and two children. The Dutch military aviation and plastic modeling were his hobby and on this website he shared all the knowledge he has collected over the years. His hobby has been able to distract him from the persistent disease in his body until the last week of his life. The contacts with other hobbyists were a major support for him.

This website will be maintained by different people for as long as possible, so that other enthusiasts can continue to benefit from extensive content.

Fokker S.14 Machtrainer

The production version for the RNlAF was equipped with a more powerful Rolls Royce Derwent VIII rated 1588 kg thrust. The first production aircraft made its maiden flight on January 15, 1955.

The first S-14, registered L-1, was delivered August 20, 1955 at air base Twenthe. The last two examples, L-14 and L-20 arrived November 14, 1955.
Fokker S.14, L-4, was shipped to the USA in October 1955 for several display flights. Alas test pilot Gerben Sonderman crashed October 20, 1955 at the airfield of the Fairchild Aircraft Corporation, Hagerstown and was killed.

May 28, 1964 L-7 crashed near Voorne-Putten, killing both pilots commodore J.C.J. Vermeulen (C-Depot Mat Klu) and lt.kol J. Vonk.
The remaining aircraft were used without further problems.
Noteworthy is the participation of an air race, because the fact that Louis Bleriot crossed the Canal for the first time on July 25, 1909.
This air race, called Arch-to-Arc race was on July 13 tiull July 24 1959.
Fokker L-8 participated in this race with Hugenholz, director of the Zandvoort racing circuit and pilot Jan Moll, Fokker test pilot. Their twenty-third time was 61 minutes and 25 seconds.
