History

In 1912 LVG started to develop their first own airplane, designation LVG B.I.
It was a biplane of unequal span, equipped with an 80 hp Mercedes D.I engine.

Soon after the LVG B.I entered service, LVG developed an improved version, the B.II with better upwards view for the pilot, an more powerful Mercedes D.II engine rated 120 hp and somewhat smaller sizes. In 1915 this type entered service mainly as a trainer.

The next version was the LVG B.III, with several structural improvements. This type was also mainly used as trainer.
