The twenty Dutch NH-90s are of the type NH-90 NFH. NFH stands for NATO Frigate Helicopter .
In principle twelve examples are fully equipped for ASW task and used aboard the Dutch frigates.
The remaining eight units are used for transport duties and have the possibility to be used as board helicopter, but lack the anti-submarine warfare equipment and the like.
