The first order of the LVA was in 1925 for the delivery of twenty Fokker C.VI. This was the Fokker designation for a version of the Fokker C.V with a less powerful engine, than originally specified for the Fokker C.V.

The LVA used the Fokker C.VI as light reconnaissance aircraft.

later a new series of Fokker C.VDs was ordered, which were used as a fighter-reconnaissance aircraft and therefore received registrations from the fighter series. These aircraft were equipped with a powerful 450 hp Hispano-Suiza.

From 1933 , the remaining aircraft were rebuild, since the Hispano Suiza 52 12Jb and Hb engines were at the end of their technical life and there were no replacement parts available.
The LVA had good experience with the Rolls Royce Kestrel engines in the Fokker D.XVII.
Further standardization of the equipment itself was pursued. Other changes were  a fuel tank in the fuselage instead of the wing , a tailskid,  a Messier undercarriage with  brakes , a revised cockpit instruments and Rolls Royce Kestrel IIB or XI engine.

All the Fokker C.V were to be used as reconnaissance aircraft and received a new serial.

The first batch of 10 aircraft was sent to Foker in May 1931, namely 601, 603, 604, 605, 607 , 608 , 610 and 619. The first on, serial 611 was finished in February 1935 because of many troubles during its revision.

The remaining aircraft were converted by the LVB (Luchtvaart Bedrijf = Technical Air Service of the LVA).  Four C.Vs received a previously assigned serial number, namely 606, 612, 614 and 616 as the original aircraft was written off or crashed.

The other C.Vs received new serial numbers in the range of 622 to 641.

At the same time Fokker received an order for five new examples , which received serial numbers 644 to 649.

Fokker C.VD 634, photographed in 1987 at the Aviodome at Schiphol.

The aircraft with serial 626 to 630 were training aircraft and equipped with dual controls, Fokker C.V 627 was also suitable for night flying.

The Fokker C.Vs 600, 610, 622 and 625 were mapping aircraft and had no machine gun ring, but a high speed Fairey Gun Camera and a vertical camera lineup.

Fokker C.V 638 was finished last and was intended as a target drive tug .

This first series of 19 aircraft was ordered on December 24,1924 and was delivered between October 1925 and December 1925.
They were equipped with a Hispano Suiza 52-12JB engine rated 350 hp. [For this reason Fokker gave them the designation Fokker C.VI. The Fokker C.V was offered with a range of more powerful engines.]
The C.VI was armed with one fixed forward firing machine-gun and one moveable machine-gun for the observer.
In 1933 a standardization program was started and the engine was replaced plus several other changes were made. The remaining aircraft retained their original serial number.
