History

The Fokker DC-I was a development of the Fokker C.IV, with a smaller wingspan, but further identical.

The smaller wingspan was necessary to improve the manoeuvrability because of the fighter function of the type. The D.C.I climbed in 6 minutes to a height of 3000 m, whereas the C.Iv needed 16 minutes for the same height. It was equipped with a Napier Lion rated 450 hp and only ten examples were built for NEIAF. These aircraft are the only examples built of this type.

Spain was interested to built the aircraft under licence, but preferred the Fokker C.IV.
