August 6 and 7, 1918 two Friedrichshafens FF-33J/S made an emergency landing near Ameland and Texel respectively. These two aircraft were interned with serial V-1 and V-2. FF.33 V-1 was shipped to Netherlands East-Indies on July 5, 1918 , where it arrived on November 26, 1918 and made its first flight in February 1919.
September 24, 1917 a Friedrichshafen FF-33L landed near Wielingen. A torpedo-boat of the Dutch Navy dragged it to Veere, where it was repaired and interned with serial V-3.
The Friedrichshafen FF-33 pleased very well, so (after the war) an order for the delivery of eighteen aircraft was placed. All were delivered between April 14 and Augustus 1919.
