No. 1316 Dutch Communications Flight was raised 7 July 1944 and was stationed at air station Hendon. The flight was equipped with several types of aircraft, among them were four Dominies. The Flight was dismissed in may 1946. Most of the aircraft in use were then handed over to the Dutch Air Force.

The aircraft were mainly used for transport functions, especially during the period 1946 till 1950, when there were many severe winters, causing several islands could not be accessed across the water.
