Op maandag 30 april 2018 is Wilko Jonker na een lang ziekbed overleden op de leeftijd van 58 jaar. Hij laat een vrouw en twee kinderen achter. De Nederlandse militaire lichtvaart en plastic modelbouw waren zijn hobby en op deze website heeft hij alle kennis die hij in de vele jaren daarover heeft verzameld gedeeld. Zijn hobby heeft hem tot in de laatste week van zijn leven af kunnen leiden van de voortwoekerende ziekte in zijn lijf. De contacten met andere hobbyisten waren een belangrijke steun voor hem.

29-06-1944 De Spitfire VL-Q werd op 29 Juni 1944 gevlogen door F/sgt W de Vries en vloog die dag 5 sorties om v1's te onderscheppen.
Om 21.40 u steeg hij op van West Malling.
Om 22.10 u werd door F/sgt W de Vries een V1 onderschept welke ontplofte.
Bij deze interceptie werd het vliegtuig geraakt door eigen FLAK in de stuurboord ailleron.
Kogelgaten in de stuurboord-vleugel, motorkoeling en romp noodzaakte een noodlanding op Kingsnorth.
F/sgt W de Vries was ongedeerd.
