History
The Fokker S.III was a trainer, in which the instructor and the student were sitting behind each other.
This was unlike its predecessor, the Fokker S.II.
The S.III could be equipped with a large range of engines, such as a 120 hp Mercedes, a Curtiss OX-5, a 200 hp Renault or a 200 hp Wright.
The S.III made its maiden flight on December 12, 1922.

At the end of 1924 all aircraft were delivered.
The Technical Service of the RNLNAS built an 19th example from spare parts.
The Fokker S.III did well and remained in service until the end of 1938.
In May 1940 nine examples were still left and some of these were used as decoy on Naval Air Station De Kooy.
